Title: leaking (in!) skorpion tank
Post by: andy230 on June 17, 2010, 02:06:19 PM
Ello   :D

DR has a new shock.  Now for the 2nd fork rebuild   >:(   In the meantime the skorpion has been strangely hassle-free.

Apart from rainwater running into the tank.

SteveH, you said you re-sealed.  What did you do?  remove allen screw from cap surround, replace with silicone/gasket/3-bond, and tighten up?

Thats what I plan to do, however, silicone doesn't really like petrol liquid or vapour....

cheers

Aye Andy,

How the devils are you old chap? Hot weather up here in the hill station and more forecast for the rest of the weekend in the Lothian Lowlands!

Herman and the Funday both played this nasty trick and both had the small drain hole behind the filler cap bunged up with ****! Inflate the pipes, place end of chanter into hole and play pibroch for a short while!  ;)  Something like 'Cameron's lament of Mexico!'  ::) Should sort that bit out. The other bit you describe may require a new bladder or 'O'ring, rather than a hapeth o' tar!

Toodle pip, heliograph calls, 'Agent monocilindrico'

Aye Smudge,

If you have difficulties with your friends in Dunfermline, then I have on good authority that Canal Bank Motors in Bonnybridge, 01324 810999 have already done a Skorp this week. Kat's old one! Usually same day!  ;D

Ciao, Bill.

Passed  ;D
and the slow leaks on both wheels traced to corrosion where the valves fit through so hopefully they'll stay up now and sweet handling will be restored  8)

Now I just have to find the insurance certificate and I can tax it.... :-\

Taxed, MoT'd and legal again, and the handling is once more sublime  8)

Of course the fuel pipe has now decided to start cracking up so I have another urgent job to do.... but what the heck, it goes, it's legal and the new gel battery is starting it first time as well, all good really!  ;D

Nice eh?  Well done mate!

They're nice handling bikes eh?  Not as slim as other singles, but nice and solid.  Cheers for now, hope you get to enjoy it
