XBR500 (1989) worn camshaft needs replacing, any ideas as to where to find - alternative solutions?

Aye Rocker,

Go speak with Joy Cams or Newman Cams for re-furbishment. Will post details. Also have a looksee in the 'Recommended' forum maybe something in there. SRX is what I have, but I'm sure the XBR mob will be along to assist soon.

Aye Rocker, here is the address from the 'recommended' section of this site:

"Joy Engineering Motorcycle Camshaft Specialist
The Workshop
Ryes lane
Hatfield Heath
Bishops Stortford
CM2 7BS

Tel 01279 730 682

First class work and service: reprofiles, rebuilt journals etc."

My regards, Bill.

When I discovered my knackered one David Silver provided an oe replacement at an acceptable price (I think!)  :)

My XBR has an XL600 camshaft - less revs, more torque, more relaxed ride.

I'd go for the new option as my v unreliable father in law has gone away for weekend and is not in the mood for bikes at the moment.

You can choose your friends......
