Hello chaps-
1. Anyone got a tightening sequence for the SRX head? Obviously diagonals for the 4 bolts but what about the two nuts fore and aft??
2. This is gorgeous!!! (even if the publication is crap)

Aye Andy,
Ohhhhhhhhhh dear!!!!!!!!!! I could be smitten, Aprilia.
As for your tightening mate. Tighten the 4 bolts to 25Nm (2.5 m-kg, 18ft-lb) in the usual alternate diagonal sequence [Of course you marked the bolts so as to correspond with the holes they came from!!]. Then tighten the 'acorn nuts' alternately to 20Nm (2.0m-kg, 14ft-lb).
Did you buy a genuine Yamaha new gasket?
All the best and I hope it goes well.
Cheers, Bill

I spoke to martin sweet at slipstream.
Apparently he nips the acorns, then torques the bolts (diagonally; and yes, I jabbed them into a bit of card, so they go back in as they came oot!), then goes back and tightens the nuts properly.
He said WD440 on the threads, and a wee dab of coppaslip under the (copper) washers. Good to know....
I had to buy another torque wrench- tho one I had could have put the Queen Mary together!!
And yep, genuine gasket. Why is the norton one 4 quid, and the Yam one 25???!! Pretty similar looking things!
Cheers anyway

ps. yeah, that aprillia would be good as a supermono racer....
