Back at our old spot on the balcony (the side opposite the 'restaurant'). In between the Guzzi club and the two stroke tiddlers.

I'm chuffed to bits, I really enjoy Stafford, especially doing it as part of the show rather than as a paying punter.

We now have a (more or less) full stand of bikes (are you bringing the Norton Bruce?) and it looks like being a good weekend.

Furry John and Molly have very generously offered to transport their entire thumper fleet to the show, including their astounding unused Manxman. Mark Elliot and his mate are bringing a Norton 16H, Trevor his SRX and Ducati Pete may be turning up for the Saturday on his recently restored Ducati Mach 1. We can fit more on, if people want to come, but I should be able to get tickets for a couple of weekenders even if they aren't showing a bike.

I've blagged an awning from my brother so I can put that up alongside my van to give any overnighters a dry spot for socialising on the camping field.

Anyone fancy being my co-pilot on the drive up from South Wales? I'll be leaving late Friday morning and returning late Sunday night.

Cheers

Funnily enough I just sat down, armed with a cup of coffee, intending to mail all the prospective attendees. Yes, passes are here and I am going to post them all tomorrow using recorded delivery... will that be ok for you to pick up or will be better for you if it just gets posted through your letterbox?

Yes, will bring your Dragon file.

Cheers

Good man, we'll all chip for your cooking costs. I'll be bringing my two-ring stove, pans, kettle, tea and coffee.

Hi Bruce,

Does that include Mol and I? we won't need to sort out Saturday evening if we are included, any costs covered of course, as per GC's  response.

I am sending tickets out to:
Bruce
Boyd
Mark
Trevor

Furry John has had his.

Have I missed anyone?

Anyone interested in coming for the weekend? I have a small number of tickets left. I'd rather give them out to weekenders who will camp over, but if not then I can pass them on to day visitors.

Would love too but cant be in two places at once and I've committed to Dent already. Isn't it always the way. You wait all year for a decent get together, then two arrive at the same time ;D

Just to let members know, this show was done very much on the cheap. but we did buy 8 Ikea spotlights (low wattage) and they have now been added to our show kit for future use. The total cost for the lights was just over £40.

I used my coffee machine (again!) for the show, but yesterday I found one similar for a fiver so I have bought it to use for future shows (I'll pay for that). I had bought a neat little folding table for the coffee machine prior to Stafford and we will keep that for future use too.

My thinking is that if we have enough gear to set up a show stand then we can easily (and cheaply) attend shows and treat them as beanos for the club members who come along. For Stafford we ended up with (iirc) 16 weekend passes and 9 vehicle passes for free.

I'm not sure we will ever do more than one or two shows a year, but we can't really go back to the days of spending hundreds of pounds on a stand every time.

Uttoxeter again next year anyone?

How about Cardiff show 2010, Graham ?

Think its May time again, local VJMC are organising. Saw an advert asking for interested parties to contact them.
Would do it myself but had no interest this year. Therefore thought I 'd canvass before registering for a stand this time, in order to avoid the embarassment of withdrawing, as before.

Rob.

Definitely Uttoxeter, but what about:

Shepton Mallet in February (but does this clash with the Dragon?)
Stafford again in April?
Andrew Greenwood's show in Stoneleigh - I think it's in May.  This one used to be in February at Donington Park.

Count us in on Uttoxeter, we enjoyed that this year, bikes will have to be as ridden though, no trailer or van I think.

I have rec'd the cheque for expenses from Mortons so all those who exhibited bikes at Stafford can now be paid their (small) fee either by cheque or via Paypal. PM me with your preference.

Cheers
