After my mates accident, I'm now a loner biker.
I was thinking of two ways to meet like minded (+aged) bikers.
1) arrange a meeting at a pub and stick posters up.
2)I see the same bikes all the time but obviously cant stop to chat, even at traffic lights.
and the question is, 'If someone on a bike handed you a card with 'Wanago for a ride sometime and grab a pint?' and a mob number. would you call it? or just give them the finger?
Nathan
Ps. or any better ideas?

Are their any local clubs nearby?? Spoilt for choice around here.
How about posting something here, plenty of us live in the big smoke, I'm sure a date could be set for a meet.
As for handing out cards....I for one wouldn't respond, but I'm an antisocial git. To be fair, it might work, but word it like you're trying to set up a local bike club, not like you're want a one to one date. Might have tragic consiquenses :-0

For what its worth get out to events re motorcyling and meet people, over the years I have meet and still know various people throughout Europe and the UK they are still friends and I am spoiled for choice ( and sometimes lack of money) for things do to each weekend and even during the week.

How about joining a national club and meeting up at a few rally.
I know of one event in Wales this coming feb, there's bound to be a few bikers going.
Radical I know but some sad fools have done just that and aparently some have even enjoy it.

Nathan, how about this:
A gang of us are camping at Llanthoney Priory (near Abergavenny) on 25th November. I think some of the lads may be there from the 24th (yet to be confirmed).
There's not much there: a field, a standpipe, some toilets, some ruins and two pubs. But we like it.
So, all welcome.
Here's a map www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?lat=51.9438&lon=-3.0357&scale=200000&icon=x (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?lat=51.9438&lon=-3.0357&scale=200000&icon=x)
Cheers

Keep an eye on the forum an have your input. I live up here in Huddesfield and am currently getting the DR Big ready for the winter camping. (Front wheel in for re-spoking in SS!) I'm up for travelling anywhere in the country for a meet up providing there is a nearby campsite, that is obviously up to someone in their locale to suss out and post some details. SteveH has also spent a lot of time upgrading the forum to allow anyone to detail meets as such, so lets use this facility to tell other members what's going on in the club.
PS I intend to go down to GC's impromptu meet for a couple of nights providing I don't need a boat!

NEVER!!!
"Downright ugly" Bit harsh :-( I've be told in a certain light, I could pass for an older Robbie Williams. Mind you that was before she asked me to pay for the tyres on her car (hmm) Still, at least I'm not stinking of petrol with ingrained soot on my face :-)

Am considering it, if the weather looks like it'l hold out ill come up with the other half.
(although im an all weather rider, she'll only come out if roads are dry ish)
but I will make an effort to do a thumper event sometime soon.
Nathan.
p.s. found a bucks club that i can reach easily, from that link, so cheers again 4 that.

If you are looking for somewhere in the Thames Valley why not try Fox's Diner cafe which is on the main Oxford - Henley road near Berinsfield. This is a popular bikers cafe which is busiest at weekends. (www.foxsdiner.com).
