Title: XBR centrestand spring
Post by: guest288 on August 04, 2009, 09:18:48 PM
I'm having a bit of bother fitting the spring to the centrestand on the XBR- I can't remember how it goes back, and where it seems to fit best is bending a lug... Can someone have a look and give me an idea please? !

Dave,
I remember having problems when I did my bike .I found it easier to remove the swingarm, onced removed its much easier to fit the spring,I know its a bit of a hassle but trust me its the easiest way.

hi on the left hand side  of the frame there is a hook for the half moon fitting hook that up and put your spring  on the end of it ...the  opposite end of the spring goes to a hook on the right hand side of the center stand ....the spring needs to be pulled  to each point and it can be hard i have always used this method ..........get a old inner cable /speedo ect/loop the cable and clip a vise grips on the end .......fix one end of the spring to its fitting...........put your wire cable on the other end .....and pull  and it should hook onto its lug  .. yoshi

Thanks, I forgot about the half moon fitting- that'd be why the spring didn't fit!!!
