Title: BSM and carb setting
Post by: SRXweb on July 10, 2009, 09:05:07 PM
Is it really necessary to install a Dynojet Kit stage II with a BSM exhaust ?

Or does it run just with carb setting and jets ?

Thanks for help.

Aye SRXweb,

I'm running an SRX600 with K&N filter, standard carbs and settings with a BSM exhaust sytem with a Futura 'short' stainless, road legal silencer on the end. No problems to report. 15 tooth gearbox sprocket and a 37 tooth rear sprocket (standard). Plenty of mid range, don't 'lug' the motor, let it spin.

My regards, Bill.

As Bill says the road legal legal Future silencer with a standard air box (the cover fitted) and a K+N should be fine. If you remove the air box cover or fit the vampire silencer than you may need to think about jetting.

The BSM is a Vampire.

When you write : "jetting" does it mean that I need to change the jet or that I must install Dynojet Kit.

Thanks a lot for the answers and sorry for my written english.

Hi

Your written English is excellent BTW

Cannot answer the jetting question - as to whether a Dynojet kit is needed - sorry

By 'jetting' I mean that it will run weak and you will need to compensate by changing the jets, one option is the DynoJet kit, which is expensive but in my experience does work.

It does depend on what you are changing, if it is just the exhaust then you might get away with just a main jet change. If you are removing the air box cover or running seperate pod filters then this will effect the behaviour of the CV carb, a DynoJet kit will help sort this out.

Sorry

BTW = By The Way

A comment made in passing to correct someone in a friendly manner - ie Someone may say that I am looking sad as part of a longer conversation.  I may say, almost as an aside -  'I am fine by the way'

Not sure how well that explained it but I am sure others will correct me if needed

The explanation was good enough. Thank you for your gramatical skills.
