Title: Chuffed but skint
Post by: squirrelciv on November 07, 2006, 07:54:22 PM
Sent the front hub off to Hagon today and tomorrow the boss is dropping off the two wheel spindles to the chromers for finishing :-) When all comes back, all I have to do is fit the tyre, bolt both wheels in and get Abigail off her little perch and I will have completed my 2006 challenge of getting her to a rolling chassis. No riding in my pants through the village for me. Yippee!!

I'll post some piccies when she's done, and Bill & Smudge, I reckon I'll crack that bottle of Talisker open and raise a dram too :-)

Now just got to figure out how to pay for it :-(

Well done Pat and congratulations although I have to say that if you're angling for a whip round, you're probably wasting your time. Here's a thought, why not bring Mr Talisker to the camp and we call all help you raise a dram.

Well done you! I am (literally) raising my glass to you right now... slainte :-)
Enjoy the dram and as you savour it remember the roads you covered where it is made, from the twisting climbing ribbon in the central highlands to the bleak Cockbridge to Tomintoul (keep watching these weather forecasts... not yet, but soon! ;-)) to the wide open flow country and that sweeping open stretch of the A9 coming south from JoG...

Magical stuff, and now it'll be in your mind every time you have a decent dram ;-) Enjoy! :-))

Wondered where you'd been Bill, glad to hear your still around. That bottle sits pride of place and in full view in my living room. Every time my eye catches it, I think of our Scottish trip :-) Needs a special moment to open it and I reckon completion of phase 1 is it. Can't wait to get the old girl finished and show her where it came from too.
