Title: SRX600 Fuel tap mod
Post by: chris on March 14, 2009, 09:42:52 PM
 :)
Hi All
Has any one changed or modified the fuel tap on the 1986 twin shock srx600 for a gravity fed fuel tap?
If so what did you use?
Cheers
Chris

The standard SRX tap is gravity fed, it only uses the vacuum to turn the fuel off when the engine isnt running. There are repair kits available, its alos possible to modify to move swap the spring from one side of the vacuum diaphragm to the other to produce a permanently 'on' tap if thats what your looking for.

HI Steve
I wish to remove the vacuum aspect of the fuel switch.
I was hoping that you could fit an rd350 fuel tap etc.
As I don't use the bike much and getting it started is a bugger at the best of times.
Cheers

If starting is the problem then putting it on 'prime' bypasses the vacuum switch.
I found mine was difficult to start if it was left more than a couple weeks. It would start then die if I touched the throttle. I have found draining the carbs helps.
