I think I'll get this first one out of the way before I commit to anything further. That is of course assuming I get back from Edinburgh in one piece on Saturday!

for those who don't know the details, Boyd is flying up to Edinburgh to pick up a sidecar outfit and then embarking on his maiden sidecar ride back home to Derby.
It is the only way to learn ;)

Did it all go to plan Boyd and may I ask where you picked the outfit up from?
My regards, Bill.

After January's Tauerntreffen I probably won't be doing any long winter trips for a couple of years for the simple reason I think it's too much time away from my family.
I'll be able to bring the kids along to summer rallies but my lads are still too young to be carted off to Germany in deepest winter. (Although Dylan might do his first Dragon in '10).
When this sensible and caring approach to parenting came to me I have no idea, I have to concede that maturity and responsibility come to all men (eventually!) ;)
I nearly turned back from the '02 Elefant trip. I was riding towards Paris and thought "How could I have left my pregnant wife at home alone?". I called her from a petrol stop and we agreed that it was probably better I carry on. However, I still feel a bit selfish for having gone.
These jollies are great fun, but you have to devote nearly a week to the trip and, with regret, I have to admit that the time has come for me to accept the rigours and demands of being a dad first and foremost.
