Title: XT HEAD GASKET

HAS ANYONE EVER MADE A COPPER HEAD GASKET FOR AN XT. IF SO HOW THICK WAS THE COPPER SHEET AND DID THIS WORK OK. ANY INFO WOULD BE HELPFUL, THANX.

Aye srxbitsa,

Have a look around on this man's website. He's been around for a good while and had a good reputation in the US and with some members of this club. Head gaskets for XT500's and SRX600, if you need it for an XT600 then I think an SRX600 will do the job, but check with the seller first! Caveat emptor and all that.

both soft copper and soft aluminium work well as head gaskets on 2-strokes, but it's hard to get them to work on 4-strokes because of the larger surface area and higher compression. The laminated ones work better.
