I am fitting a new chain and sprocket set to the Dommi but no matter how I try I cant get the rivet link any further that flush through the chain outer link. Its an O ring chain ,Whats normal for these type??

will the male part press through the female part when it is off the rest of the chain - I have had a few where the holes in the plate are too small for the pins - just needed a small deburr,

Then there are those pesky O-rings to close up whilst you rivet it over - I have used small mole grips to 'crush' the parts together whilst I pop the rivet with a hammer.  Needs four hands, eighteen elbows and a slot of luck

Aye Ken,

Might I suggest you get a split link and use that instead of the rivetted variety? Its not as though the Domi is some fire breathing monster and 50 - 55 HP through a chain with a split link is not unheard of. Easier on the hands and the head and better for roadside repairs etc. if required.

I may try that if I can find a link the right size link. Us bikers at work are trying to get them to buy the propper tool for work so we can borrow it.

Hello Ken
Managed to win that motor you pointed me towards. That means that I will need a chain and sprocket set in the near future. Can you recommend make and/or supplier?

Well done with the motor

I looked through ebay There are loads with diferent sprockets so make sure you know what you need. Think inc postage it was about £78.00 for the full set DID chain. To be honnest my back sprocket and chain was not as bad as I thought so if you stuck you could have it.

Thanks for the offer of the sprockets. I think I'm in the same boat, with the sprockets not being too bad and the chain near the end of it's life. I've already had an ear bashing about buying the motor; will have to try and sneak a new chain under the wire.

Well boyd there is a servicable chain if needed. Just needs a join link

You want a 525 rivet type?
