My other bike a 1961 Francis Barnett that I am renovating, need new rims and spokes fitting. Central wheels want 6 weeks, but I have a Lands End to John O Groats run in 5 weeks time.
So I am going to have a go myself, my question is does anyone have any information on this type of work. I dont even have a wheel to copy as I cut my spokes so as to get the hubs painted but I do know the rim type and the spoke length. I understand the therory of how to tru a wheel and have done it on pedal bikes but would be happier to read up on it first.

Hi Ken,
Did you measure the wheel offset before you took the old spokes out? you will need that before you can get the wheel rebuilt or do it yourself.
You might have been better to send the wheel as it was and get them repaint the hub at the same time. Have you tried Wylde's? www.cwylde.co.uk (http://www.cwylde.co.uk), I've heard mixed reports about them but they may be able to sort your wheels in time. I know there was somewhere near Louth but I can't find the address or if they are still there.

You might also try Hagons.

I think the site describes their experience fairly. The offset is very important as teve metions and so does Hagons site. Maybe a word with the FannyB Owners Club might prove fruitful. Hope you get fixed and have a safe run.
My regards, Bill.

Hi
Thanks for the help
No I dident measure the offset but can do it from another bike. Have asked hagons for a quote but I am leaning towards having a go myself. At the time getting the rims sandblasted and painted seemed the most important thing :(

Had the wheels for Abigail done at hagon and found their service very good.
