Andy.....Is snetterton still a no go?.......if you are coming up anyway.....do you want to flog round on my blue track bike? you are more than welcome.....it is ( think ) good enough to pass scrutineering and noise checks....anyway...the choice is yours....let me know if you are coming up...we can at least get together for a natter

OOOOOO, places mean points! ;)
Your a very nice man SteveL.
Hope you aren't snow bound up a drift! You know what I mean ;)
My regards, Bill.

Hi Steve,
I'd be very tempted by that...
I have entered, so if I can get a bike it would be brilliant.
And I'll be there anyway, riding or not. But riding would be better!
For scrutineering it needs to have the drain plugs wired, breathers routed to catch tank, and a bottom fairing/engine disaster catch tank capable of holding about 1 litre of oil.
The latter may be the biggest problem, but can also be easily fixed.
I could even have some tyres if yours are... tired..!
Much appreciated steve, lets get a plan into action?

All likely (and some unlikely) bits are wire locked
The lower fairing 'did' have sufficient moulding on the base to hold approx 2 litres of oil.....until i buggered it up at snetterton on that ill fated track day! easily repairable though...will also need brake and clutch levers and the clipon straightening out...all minor probs.
as this bike was raced in supermono 10 years ago....it should pass ok....certainly passes the latest noise checks...tyre's will be your main concern.....great for track days....may not suit the flamboyant balls out riding style that you adopt :-)
let me know how you want to proceed...
Cheers

Right. I am geared up for this, thanks a lot steve, you have stepped into the breach bravely!
Lower fairing sounds easily repairable with a bit of fastglass?
Tyres- we have slicks and wets, and these can easily be changed. Also we have wheels coming out our ears. What are the tyres currently? And what are the wheels?
I have some levers: SRX brake n clutch, and a FZR400RR (also FZR600) front brake lever.
I think I'll be coming up to see you at some point??

Thats great Andy...however
1. I've got bugger all time between now and snetterton weekend, so whilst i will be able to do the fibreglassing, might not be able to do anything else...
2. Your wheels probably wont fit this old nail, so i'll give you the wheel sizes and if you can get your tyres fitted onto these rims that'll be fine
3. the forks bloody nigh on bottom out at the end of snetterton straight and really need new progressive springs (time...money...blah blah)
4. When i bolloxed everything up the other week...one thing that got broke was the q/r fuel coupling in the tank (this is the fixed one that screws into the bottom of the tank) and i'm having a hell of a job finding a replacement....i'm sure it's do-able, but might need the whole shebang replacing
were you planning to come up and collect the bike pre snetterton and get it back to yours so's you can fettle it?
Cheers

Hi Steve,
Get my Email?
I can buy rubber at the track, but the fuel tap problem may scupper us. A bodge with chemical metal is possible, but probably not a good idea as you can't just "turn it off" when it splits again...
How are you set for me to pick up this friday (4th)
cheers

not a problem with friday atall.....I'm angling to get friday off, so hopefully will get a bit of work done on the old girl.....you've got my mobile....give me a call either thursday or friday morning and i can get everything organised (well, sort of, arranged might be a better word:-)
cheers
