Title: CB250rs Oil leak cure anyone?
Post by: levers on October 17, 2007, 11:28:32 AM
Hi Folks.
My old Rs is leaking from the valve cover where the cams are fitted. The solution is to strip them and replace the seals I know, but whoever had the bike before me had some kind of clear sealant over the cam ends which did the trick until recently. the rub is i do not know what the stuff is!
Any ideas?
Cheers

It's probably bathroom-grade silicon sealant.

I just used blue hylomar on mine, all oil tight, granted it's only done about 6 miles on the road since I rebuilt it but I can't afford tax until next month.
