Have you checked that GC hasn't fitted a side car to it!

Seriously is the engine smooth through the rev band to the red line and does it accelerates ok.
If it was mine I too would think the worst. First go back to basics and check and change things like filters and plugs and if the brakes are binding etc. ie check the free stuff and do a good service first.
It wouldn't be the first time a bike has not worked properly, to be fixed by a new air filter.

just don't ask how I know.

it woz gon 4 about a week all the front woz smashed up and the tanks dented badly, it started ok tho, it revs up 2 about 4tho rmp then coughs an spluts thru 2 5tho then seems 2 pull ok after that but on occasion it will cough between 5 and 6tho rmp and feel lyk its just aint pulling atall which can be interestin when overtaking it had a service before it got back on the road so all the wee jobs have been done

If it was left out in the rain, there will be water in the fuel. Put some neat alcohol in the tank, close the fuel tap and drain the float bowl then turn the tap on and, when the petrol starts running out, close the drain and ride it for a while.

Are the inlet manifolds split and drawing in air. If te the air box is split some force must have been applied to the carbs etc.

Remember it usually is something that you have done to it so don't spend money until you have checked out all the non expensive bits first (ie what's free to check) Fitting k&n's puts another set of improbables into the equation.
