Title: water-related question
Post by: guest7 on August 17, 2006, 01:19:16 PM
Anyone have a wetsuit they want to sell? I'm 6' tall and have a 36" waist.

My 12 yr old daughter wants to do more bodyboarding and surfing and if I've got to accompany her I'd rather have a suit.

Cheers

36 inch waist??!!!

Hahaha!!  I doubt it!  You need to take a leaf out of my book matey- I'm not down to 2 lettuce leaves and a pine kernal a day. On saturdays I have some sunflower seeds

ps.  Sorry, no wetsuit or otherwise helpful comments!

Hi - I do have one that is too small for me, may consider selling it - will have to ask the boss amongst other things. It is a one piece - probably built for surfing but I had bought it for triathlons - but it squeezes me too tight. - Will have to try it on again and think it through.  However if you want to borrow it for a bit that will be fine.

Watch it you stripling. I was aware that I was opening myself up to gleeful accusations of porkiness, but 36" it is and 36" it has stayed for some years now so I guess there's not much chance of things improving. It has to be said that in the days when I cycled 40 miles a day, my waist was 34" so I guess it's partly down to how you're built.

Aldi were selling cheap and cheerful wetsuits a month or so ago, might be worth checking to see if they have any stock left

Oh forgot say. I'm 6'3" and 34/36 bwaist - the problem is that the suit was bought from a shorter person and i kinda streach it long and thin - so a loan whilst I sort out whether it is needed or not is there if wanted.

I've forwarded a "sale" advert to your virgin.net email address, you could also have a trawl throught the BSAC (British Sub Aqua Club) forums as people often sell wetsuits and semi-dry suits after completing training/failing to diet ;-)
Google BSAC and you should find it ok.
I use a scubapro 7mm semi-dry suit with a 5mm shorty (with hood) on top for diving because I'm too lazy to use a drysuit, amongst other reasons, and I'm generally as warm with that as the drysuit crowd. It's probably too much for something as energetic as your bodyboarding(!) but imho a 7mm would probably be fine.
