Just read that yet another bike dealership has closed down. Harley-Davidson Southampton has ceased trading. This is about the 5th dealership that I’ve read about recently that has had to close because of poor sales. It certainly doesn’t bode well for motorcyclists generally, think we’re definitely a dying breed.
I’m heading down to the NEC bike show this coming weekend with a mate. It’ll be interesting to see how busy/quiet it is 🤔
I’ll report back on Sunday
Cheers, Michael

Hope you have a good show Michael. It's been a while since I last went even though the NEC is relatively close to me.
I just can't seem to summon up much enthusiasm for shows these days, even for the Stafford show which is more my scene. I guess going twice a year for a number of years especially when I did a bit of jumbling has dimmed my interest although I'm still a keen petrol head -if you are allowed to say that these days ??? >:(
A couple of my local well established bike shops have gone to the wall recently - Streetbike and Motor Cycle Mart . I'm told by my mate who used to be in the trade that things are very bad with not much going on in the way of new or used bike sales .Those of us of a certain age (most of us I think) have seen this all before........

Hi Martin. Yes it’s a few yrs since I’ve been to the NEC bike show, my mate asked if I fancied going so I said yes, why not? Plus he’s driving so that’s a bonus 👍. Like you my enthusiasm has dimmed a little for shows over the last few yrs, think mainly it’s because they just seem to repeat themselves year on year, so you feel like “been there done that” I must say I do enjoy getting down to the Stafford show on the TC stand whenever I can, good laugh and plenty o bike chiddy chat. Plus always nice to meet fellow TC members, put faces to names.
Anyway, like I say I’ll report back on Sunday and give my personal opinion as to what I think of the NEC show
Cheers, Michael
