Title: Mighty Midget returns to me.
Post by: Itsme on September 05, 2024, 01:40:18 PM
Hi All

A while ago I posted to say I had let my step-son's girlfriend's son have the MM frame to spray with the idea of him re-building the MM as a learning exercise as he said he was interested in bikes.

Sadly two things happened, step-son split up with his girlfriend and young man wasn't as interested as he thought. So after months I got the frame back with very little work done to it. Shame , but at least he had a chance.

Today I sprayed the frame black and began rubbing the tank down, small beginning, but very satisfying. Now I have the Royal Enfield I can't see me using the MM much, if at all, but it does feel good to have it back in the garage.

Oh well, at leat he didn't just leave it outside to rot. You may well rekindle an interest in the future.

[/quoteHear, hear. I agree with Ian, Ian. The MM may well rise like the Phoenix from the ashes 🤞
Cheers, Michael

Despite having seen Wishbone Ash live at Reading in 1975 you 3 have lost me!

I agree Ian, maybe the lad was just overwhelmed by the size of the task and needed something a bit less daunting to ease him into the wonderful world of bike tinkering.

It is good to have the MM back in the garage even as a collection of bits, which will be re-assembled for sure. I am loving the Enfield and just find it brilliant to ride, but there is something about the little Suzuki that just captivates me.

Itsme without the MM is like yorkshire pudding without the gravy (or custard depending on taste).

Thanks Ian. My vote goes for gravy if hot and jam if cold.
