Title: Shock Absorbers
Post by: kevberlin on August 23, 2024, 02:34:26 PM
I want to adorn my Cb250rs with some new rear shocks. Research shows me prices ranging from £50 to £250 plus. I am a little confused as to what I ought to buy. What is the difference? I ride one up and use the bike merely for local pleasure riding. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Evening Kev. I used to run my XBR cafe racer on a pair of Hagon shocks, reasonable price and definitely decent shocks for the money. I used to do some fairly “brisk” riding on it from time to time and never had an issue with the shocks. They definitely used to do shocks for The cb250rs. Not been on their site for a few years so not sure if they still do.
Best of luck with it
Cheers, Michael

I've had a pair of cheap chrome shocks on my RS for quite some time now. I used to have a mate in the trade and he supplied me with a pair of shop soiled ones similar to these below for about £30.

I understand YSS is a good make but can't find any for the RS at the moment.

Try NJB shocks - the bloke who runs it is an ex Girling top bloke. No personal experience but heard good reports and they're cheaper than Hagon - which always seem oversprung to me.

Thanks fellahs. The NJB chappy gave me a prompt and clear reply to my enquiry. I like to support small British business when I can, so I think I’m going to buy from him.
