Evening gents (and any ladies 🤷???) ... I’ve just bought myself a Honda MSX125 GROM, I intend to use more during the winter months to hopefully save my speed twin getting wrecked with the salt and grime they toss down at this time of year.
Sorry but I don’t know how to post photos up but it’s the “splendid blue” colour should anyone want to google image it. Got a good deal because of the colour being the one that sells last apparently 🤷???
Cheers, Michael

Come on Michael you're amongst friends, if the Speed Twin is getting a bit much for you now you go for the Grom and enjoy that throbbing 125cc motor!
Right having risked a midnight visit from an angry Yorkshire man I'll be serious now. What a fab bike the Grom is. I got chatting to a chap with one last year and he loved it, 70mph everywhere and 180mpg! Brilliant. There's one turns up regularly at the bike shop I frequent that is all decked out with screen, panniers etc and it looks great.
Enjoy the mini-thumping.

Many thanks Ian. I’m as excited about getting out for a spin on it as I was the speed twin when I bought that. Who’d have thought 11bhp could bring such a smile to ones face 😁😁

Great little bikes, and there's a host of tuning bits and accessories for the too. I've seen one done up to look like a mini africa twin! Look forward to hearing a ride report...

Well, I finally managed to get out on my little 125 grom over the weekend. What a fun little bike. Obviously not quick in any way shape or form but the grin factor is well high on the scale. Just simple good fun riding, nothing more, nothing less. I’ve managed to put 103 miles on it over this weekend so I suppose that shows how much fun I have going out on it, on a freezing cold, damp winter weekend.
I can definitely recommend getting something small, light and fun to ride over the winter months.
👍👍😁

That is great to hear Michael and as you say any bike which tempts you to just go for a ride even when it's crap has to be a good one. I was thinking the other day about bikes I've owned and the ones I liked best and apart from my R80 BMW all my favourites have been 250cc or less.
Keep mini thumping and enjoy the grin factor.

Good luck with your mini thumper Michael. I've just looked the Honda Grom up and they seem like fun and hopefully perfect for your needs. I'm still using my CB250RS as default bike especially over the better winter days and find its light weight a big bonus then. I know you used to run one in your younger days.

Many thanks gents. Yes it’s one of those things in life where you kind of think “I wish I’d done this a few years ago” Better late than never though I suppose eh.
Yes Martin I ran an RS250 from new back in 1981. I ran it for about 5yrs, did about a million miles on it. Cracking bike. (Certainly at the time) Upgraded to a brand spanking XBR500 in August 1986. Happy daze indeedy.
Cheers, Michael

Can't quite see the attraction of the grom myself although it may have to do with the fact that I would look (even more) ridiculous on one than I do on my other bikes. I do remember a friend having a monkey bike in the 1970s and trying that out. Not being familiar with the gear lver linked clutch I managed a massive wheely and the bike shot off into the bushes leaving me sprawled on the tarmac. Put me off tiny bikes for life......
