New toy, well impressed so far! Bit of an impulse buy, i don't really know anything about Aprilia so hoping it behaves itself!!

Very nice indeed, I think I'm right in saying the BMW F650 was developed from this?

Very nice indeed. Pete is right the F650s were built by Pegaso I think and are basically the same bike. I have had 3 F650s and really rate them, the only reason I don't have one now is my knees hurt too much to paddle one when manoeuvring. Enjoy the new toy.

Gareth, if it runs the same Mikuni carb (BST33 IIRC) as the F650, they are prone to sticking float valves and consequent flooding of the engine. I had to get a carb rebuild kit for my F650 and also had to source some of the tiny 'O' rings that hold the jets and floats in place on my F650's carb before it would run nicely.

Its electronic fuel injection not carbs!!

i think they share a basic engine architecture. iirc the engines for both were built by rotax.

And it's a heavily cosmetically altered version of that engine in the new lardy 'BSA' Gold Star.

Better still - should have much better fuel consumption than my carby F650 then :)
