Title: Twingles.
Post by: RonXBR on April 29, 2022, 07:43:49 PM
Always had a great interest in split singles. Anyone ever own or ridden any of the different makes. Puch made some nice models.

Interesting engines seen a couple running but never ridden one, I have always thought they might perform very well in a modern supercharged or turbo application as there is little blow through between the intake and exhaust ports

Perforated ear drums!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

There were several at John Surtee's "Superprix" meetings at Brands Hatch in the '80's and '90's.

Here is a link to a YouTube video: DKW_250SS_start-up and ride (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbBTPRjatwk)

I am not so sure about the shorts and bare legs next to those exhausts! :-\

Good health, Bill

Great sound but glad I don't live next door to him!

I go to a layby café on the Shrewsbury to Welshpool road on a Tuesday afternoon, to meet like minded fools Yesterday (14th) one of the lads said he had been offered a Puch 250 split single. Around £2.2k I believe. Seems a bit of a bargain but time will tell. He asked my opinion. My only "concern" was availability of spares. I think he's very tempted though. Will keep you posted if he buys it.

OOO! Form an orderly queque.  ;)  Relive your hedonistic, uncouth youth days of the late '60's and '70's on a noisy "stinkwheel"!   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good health, Bill
