i'm guessing it should read 'half of the bikers i interviewed' ..... so maybe ...erm...................26 ?
-
They probably asked if they'd rather have an electric motorbike than no motorbike at all...

A fuller version of the results;

Still not sure how randomised the sample population was though...
-
Probably not at all. And as Pete says it depends what exactly they asked.
-
Well I'd rather like one.
-
I’d certainly like a go on one, not to sure if I’d actually want one but I never say never. 🤷???
-
I test drove the Zero SR/S ( the faired version) last September. All I can say is just go (when we are allowed) and test ride one. Open your mind and have no preconceived ideas. Just ride it. Say no more🙄
-
But will I have to make brum, brum, engine noises in my helmet as I’m riding it around Ian 🤣😉
-
Only if you're riding one in Birmingham 😁👍
-
Ah.... in that case then. I’ll have to make something like “L’lanc, L’lanc noises then. Just somehow doesn’t quite have the same ring to it though🤣😉
-
I'm not saying I wouldn't like to try one, but of the current offerings, the Zero bikes are the only ones that offer a decent range and they are way, way out of my price bracket. Cheaper options usually have mediocre performance (a Yammie RXS100 would see them off from the lights) and a range of less than 100 miles. Even if I could afford a Zero, if I wanted to get to Scotland, I'd do it quicker on a cbf125 for about a tenth of the price...

Or clank clank depending how worn your big end is......
Re electric bikes I suspect that by the time they get in my price range I won't have a use for one. I always seem to prefer well-used vehicles.....

Ah but don’t forget Ian, lecci bike’s don’t have a big end. 😉

That got me to thinking, no big end but they must have a crank of sorts that spins, and that must rely on bearings and lubrication. Then there are the brushes, unless brushless. A whole new world of mechanical mayhem to explore.
Are the bearings 'sealed for life'?
Musings........
