Title: Is anyone out there in the USA ?
Post by: DebbieAA on April 30, 2007, 08:22:16 AM
I have a GB500 TT which has come from California, USA. The parts I am looking for have been discontinued in Japan so I need to source them from the USA. I am having trouble finding a dealer who is willing to ship to the UK. So my question is, does anyone have a State side contact or know of a useful bike (Honda) dealer who is willing to ship goods over here. Debbie.

Thumperstuff.com, if I recall correctly. But GBs are the same everywhere apart from a strange thing called an air pump which I've seen mentioned on US sites—it may be a pollution-control device. It's not necessary, but may be connected in some way to parts that are necessary so it may take some fettling to eliminate it.

That is correct.

The air pollution device was mandatory for sale in the State of California, and the jetting was a bit leaner.

A richer pilot jet should cure the slightly lean condition caused by the removal of the tank vent fume recirculator, or whatever it's called.

As for many bike parts...... the big four Japanese Makers Parts may be found at bikebandit.com, complete with online parts fische style blow ups.
Everyone I know removed the air canister and had no problems after bumping up the pilot jet one notch richer.
                                   It should work for you.
