I have submitted an application for a club stand at the Stafford show 3rd & 4th July, so who's up for it? We should have space for 8 bikes (maybe squeeze a couple more if required)
Bikes need to be on the stand Friday afternoon/early evening (possibly Saturday AM) and they will need to be on the stand until Sunday afternoon around 16:00.
Free camping Friday and Saturday night with toilets and showers available al weekend.
Cheers
Gareth

Evening Gareth, yes count me in. I can bring the (almost finished 🤣) tracker, failing that I can bring my new spitfire if you prefer. Either way I’ll be there. Looking forward to it already 👍
Cheers, Michael
-
I'm sure I will have mine finished for the show.....
(In fact I will probably beat Michael!!)🤣🤣

Jacqui
I’m not biting....oh no. I’ve got broad shoulders, I can take this ridicule 🤣👍
Let’s just hope we can actually go to the show this time 🤞🤞
-
So we've had confirmation on the Club stand, we're in the main hall on the balcony B112 - we have been there before. see attached.
Sooooooo - whos in
I only own 1 bike at present and that's a Honda c90 - just about qualifies!!
Please let m know if you're interested and what biks(s) you intend to bring.
Cheers
Gareth
-
Evening Gareth, I’ll check with my good lady wife re the dates but can’t see a problem. So if the dates fit DEFO count me in. I can bring either the spitfire or WIP.... (that’s the new name I’ve given to my XBR “tracker project” (Work in progress 😉)
Hopefully it will go ahead, the latest I’ve just heard is that they are predicting yet another surge with the virus later this summer so possibly be going back in to lockdown. Fingers crossed tho 🤞🤞
Cheers, Michael
-
Fingers crossed that it goes ahead - we all need a little something to look forward to.
-
If there is another surge, it makes you wonder why they bothered with the vaccination....
-

Yes, doesn’t it just. That’s what good ol BO JO was saying at tea time on the radio though, so who knows. I for one have my fingers firmly crossed that he’s wrong and things like Stafford can go ahead. 🤞🤞
-
Count me in Gareth. 👍🏍?
-
Guys can you try and gee people up as we don't have many takers for the show.
Cheers
Gareth
-
Evening Gareth, I can bring two bikes if needed. I can bring the XBR tracker, which isn’t quite finished 🤣🤣. I can also bring the spitfire if it’s needed to “bulk up” the numbers.
Cheers Michael
-
sorry gareth, im up in the wilds of far north scotland that week (durness) shame really cos id have loved to be at stafford. if they do the october show i will deff be there and should by then have an interesting thumper to bring along.
-
Gareth I could try and get 2 bikes if I can sort someone to bring and return the second one. Let us know how things lie and if you need it.
Ian
John, sorry to hear you won't be able to make this one. Hope to see you in October.
Come on lads (& lassies), let's fill the stand 🏍?🏍?🏍?
-
Thanks guys let's see how things go over the next month or so.

👍👍.... fingers crossed 🤞

I might have a thumper by then. If so, I'll be there. I'll let you know Gareth.

Trevor
Would be lovely to see you again Trevor😁👍
-
if anybody is travelling past lancs, you can take this matchless ive just bought, i can arrange to come and fetch it home when i get back from scotland the following week.
-
Evening John, I’m based up in lancs. quite near Burnley. Depending on how many bikes I end up taking (possibly both my spitfire and my tracker project XBR) I could possibly take your matchless down, if I only take one of my bikes and not both of them. I’ll await Gareth’s input as to what he’d like me to take down from my collection. Cheers, Michael

Trevor
would be great if you could make it.
-
Guys, up to you what bike/s you want to bring, thanks for the offer John, but will leave that up to Michael if he wants to bring your Matchless.
-
Let’s just hope this Indian variant does put a stop to the show, 🤞
Just had a text from the lovely folk at Stafford telling me that there’s only 7 weeks to go
-
I might have a thumper by then. If so, I'll be there. I'll let you know Gareth.
Trevor
Hi Trevor, how are you looking for the show?
-
It looks like its just Moto 63, Ian and myself so only 3 bikes, im still happy attending, but would really like to get some more bikes on the stand, so are there any more takers- its a free weekend camping (in July) and not October, as we normally do!!!
-
I could get my other SRX but will need to get someone to ride it to the show on Friday and back again to my house on the Sunday evening. I'm sure a ticket as a carrot may solve it 🙄Fingers crossed 🤞.
-
That would be much appreciated Ian, there will be spare tickets so fingers crossed you can find someone who can ride it there and back.
-
Just put a message on FB thumper page to see if we can get any more interested parties. I will try and find another bike as I have a 2 bike trailer.
-
Looks like we will have a couple of KTM's on the stand. Thanks Steve.
-
Gareth, I would be very interested in going and would be happy to put my XBR on the stand although it is now very boring as, having retired, I have tidied it up a bit. It now looks like a slightly tired and only done about another 2000 miles since last time so I think on about 113,000.
I've checked with She Who Must Be Obeyed and it seems it is ok for me to swan off.
Let me know please if you need a boring bike on the stand and I will happily come for the weekend covid permitting.
Thanks very much,
Richard
-
Fantastic news, would be great if you can make it. Tired xbr is not boring, as you know it's the eclectic mix that's makes our stand so interesting. I think. People get bored of bikes that look like they have never been on the road!
-
Brilliant, booked onto the calendar (TR3OC one with brilliant pictures of Tridents which I love in spite of them not being thumpers) and looking forward to it already.
Let's just hope it goes ahead. Do you need any money towards the stand and I can't remember if there is a charge for camping. I'm sure there must be.
Cheers,
Richard.
ps. Do you know if there is any way I can be changed from a junior member? I was just looking at my old membership card the other day and I think I think I am number 003. I guess I just have to be more active on the forum. Mind you I ought to be pleased to be considered a junior at my advanced age!
-
Richard, we will look forward to seeing both you and your bike. As Gareth said it's our eclectic mix of bikes and people that seems to make our stand quite popular.
Camping I'm sure is free for exhibitors.
Gareth, my SRX has now done over 300 miles so it will look like it's been on the road 😉🏍?👍
Fingers crossed it all goes ahead now 🤞🤞🤞
-
Thanks Ian, I'm sure it will go ahead, it's going to be a great weekend hopefully providing us a sense of normality!

Only just seen this for some reason. I may be able to bring the Himmo along if needed...

Yep, I'm in!

That's great. Will be in touch once tickets arrive.
-
Good news you can make it to the show Pete. Be good to get reacquainted/catch up with you again.
Plus you’ve just helped me make my decision as to which bike I will be bringing down. The XBR tracker, it’s got the 650 fmx engine in it that I bought off you a few years back.
Cheers, Michael

***********The Stafford Show tickets have arrived*********
If you haven't already done so can you ping me your address and i'll get them in the post..................
-
Ticket arrived safe and sound. Thanks Gareth 👍
-
You're welcome, thanks as always for your support.
-
Ticket arrived today thank you Gareth.
Richard.
-
Yep, I've got mine too 👍
-
Glad you've all received your tickets.
-
We now have 7 confirmed bikes for the stand with maybe 2 more - will let you know if and when they are confirmed.
-
As there is now a plethora of thumpers for the show I will now officially withdraw the offer of a second SRX. That sounds bad 😞. Sorry.... How do I put it better? 🤔
-
You can’t Ian... the stone has been cast and thou shall be banished to a land of 4 cylinder machines for the rest of eternity.
Oh go on then we’ll forgive you if your going to bring along some jelly babies instead of the second SRX😉😉
-
Well, it’s now official. “Freedom day” has been put back 4 weeks to July the 19th. Wonder how that might affect the show?
-
Evening all, will the show go ahead??? On the basis of what Boris has announced im fairly confident that the show wont be able to go ahead, im sure Mortons will be in touch tomorrow. I hope none of you are out of pocket as a result.
Gareth
-
Be a shame Gareth but I’m not to shocked at his decision to delay the date to be honest. Defo fingers crossed it will go ahead in the October and we can kind of pick up where we’ve left off. Thanks again for all your hard work up to press in sorting things out.
Ian... it looks like you can put that giant bag of jelly babies away. Hopefully just until October 🤞
Cheers, Michael
-
I think it will be delayed and have the 2 shows in one in October. Ah well that will give Michael another 3 months to finish his flat tracker 🏍🙄

As well as absolutely loving a happy ending to a story. I also love a man with a sense of humour 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

MORTONS HAVE CONFIRMED THE SHOW WILL GO AHEAD.
-
Thanks Gareth. I think everyone will have to decide how they feel about the situation for themselves.
I'm going!! 👍
-
Yep I'm in! 👍

Hello... the big question that everyone seems to have forgotten to ask is...............will the bar still be open🤷???. If so then I’m defo still up for it 😉👍🍺
-
great news Michael, see you in a few weeks.
-
Looking forward to it....ESPECIALLY if the bar IS still open 🍻🍻👍
Cheers, Michael
-
if its not pen we'll have to bring our own!
-
Now there’s a top idea. I’ll defo have to remember to bring a couple o boxes of Budweiser down with me👍
-
Sorry Gareth, I thought I'd messaged you but can't find it.
I can't remember if the gallery has opening Windows. I know it sounds silly but I think I would still like to come if there is some ventilation there. I know it's daft but I am a bit nervous about crowds.
Sorry to be a fuss.
Thanks for all your work organising this.
Cheers
Richard.
-
The upstairs windows do open and there is a window on our stand - see attached plan showing our stand B112. They will be limiting numbers of people in the halls and maintaining social distancing. We can also restrict numbers on out stand.
-
try again
-
Thank you Gareth.
I'll definitely come then. Sorry to be such a wuss.
Really looking forward to meeting up with you all.
Thanks again
Richard

I am going to book a table at the Knot and Plough pub for a meal on Saturday evening - its 1 mile from the ground along a wide grass verge, easy walk.
If anyone is up for it let me know and I can book you in - was thinking 18:45??????
https://www.knotandploughpubstafford.co.uk/
-
I’m DEFINITELY up for that Gareth. Book me in please 👍
Cheers, Michael

thanks for that - I have booked a table for 6 people (max number) for 18:45 on the Saturday night. There are 8 plus of us so if we're all in i'll get GC to book another table.
Great idea, I'm in too please..
-
I think I would like to come along please Gareth. Don't worry though if it's a nuisance.
-

Thats great news Richard,
so thats Me, GC, Michael, Pete and Richard room for 1 more - im sure there are other tables available but they need to be pre booked.
-
Just so you guys are aware and not knowing what eateries will be open on Friday night, me and GC will be ordering Papa Johns pizza for tea on Friday they will deliver to the showground!!!
-
Evening Gareth. Approximately what time should I be looking to land on Friday afternoon. Is there a preferred time for both you and the show ground staff? I was hoping to set off from up norf at about half one to two o clock. So should hopefully land at about four to half past. Does that fit in ok with you chaps?
Ps... I’ll defo need a hand with the bike as it’s a non runner oh and it’s got no brakes 😲🤣
Cheers, Michael
-
I'll be there probably around a similar time Michael. So I'm sure we will get your bike "up the slope" ok.
Ian 👍

Me and GC are planning to be there between12:00 - 13:00 - so we'll be on hand to assist with bikes
-
Brilliant, looking forward to catching up with everyone. Cheers, Michael
-
Thanks Gareth.
Does that mean you will start setting up about then?
I will try and get over by then if it will help.
Cheers
Richard
-
Great, I'll aim to arrive about 13.00 then. Pizza sounds like a good plan, mmmm. Do we need to bring along some tinnies for the Friday night, or will the bar be open do you think?
-
There's not too much to set up on the stand so no need to rush. Not sure on what's open on the Friday night so if you fancy a drink I'd suggest bring you own! I have a selection of beverages on the stand but not enough for a bender, just light refreshments! Oh, and jelly babies for Michael!
-
Great, thanks for the update. I'll aim for about 3 - 4 in the afternoon then...
-
Evening all, just had the news earlier today that I’ve got to self isolate for the next ten days as my 14yr old son was sent home from school ads he has tested positive. Obviously this means I won’t be able to make it to the show this weekend 😡😡😡😡😡. Something I was very much looking forward to, I am even supposed to be picking up my newly painted tank and seat unit from the sprayer tomorrow afternoon. I can’t believe it, GUTTED doesn’t even come close to how I feel about it. Anyway, have a drink for me and go steady with those jelly babies. Hope you all have a great and enjoyable weekend🤞👍
Cheers, Michael
-
Michael, so sorry to hear about your situation. As you say gutted doesn't even come into it especially as we have all waited best part of 2 years for a show to happen. Let's just hope that we will see you in October (if that happens!)
I will send you a few pics after the weekend.
Chin up mate and see you soon👍
-
That's bad news Michael. I hope you are all ok and weather the isolation ok.
Couldn't someone collect your tank for you?
Cheers
Richard
-
What a bummer! Pretty unnecessary too imho, otherwise what the hell was the point of vaccinating everybody? Take it easy...
-
Evening chaps, just wondered how you all got on at the show. Was it a success? Hopefully they’ll run one in October 🤞
-
Well Michael, I am probably the first to arrive home from Stafford having got here about 5:15 pm. We all agreed that it was a success considering all the restrictions that were in place. GC said it was "relaxed". We all thought we had a good time.
Just a big thank you to Gareth for organising it. Lovely to meet Peter, Matt and family, Steve and his wife and brother for the first time. Nice to see Trevor and Richard again. Some really fabulous bikes on show ( I particularly liked the Bike of the Show (a Ducati 250 desmo). Lovely folk on the Maico stand near to us on the balcony.
I think it was unanimous in deciding to have a stand in the October Show. ( Just hope you'll be able to attend Michael!)
I will post some pictures once I have resized them off my phone.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable was had by all. I'm sure others will drop by and give their opinions as and when.
Ian 🙂👍
-
A brilliant weekend. Thank you Gareth for organising it and providing refreshments as well as everything else.
It took me over 2 1/2hrs partly due to the torrential rain part due to missing my turn and ending on the M1! Only added a few minutes though. Soaked to the skin.
Again, lovely to see folks and thanks Gareth.
Cheers
Richard.
-
Sounds like a general good time was had by you fellows, which again given the circumstances is/was the main thing. Can I again apologise for not being able to make it down, as I can imagine how much effort must go in to sorting it all out. I had been really looking forward to catching up with you chaps and hopefully putting a few faces to names. Hey hoo, fingers crossed for October.
Just as a foot note, track & trace have rung me everyday so far, asking how I am, making sure my mental health is ok. I’m convinced that they really are “tracking” people. So when you answer your phone they can trace exactly where you are, hopefully within the confines of your house or garden 🤷???
Anyway glad it was a success
Cheers, Michael
-
Yes, great weekend and great to see friends old and new alike. I never did get my promised hobnobs of the MZ Riders, miserable bunch 😂.
Many thanks to Gareth for organising it all 👍
-
Great effort to Mortons for putting the show on, all in all a real success and hopefully paves the way for future shows. Great to meet up all the guys and their families. I will contact Mortons today and let them know we would like to attend the October show - will keep you all posted on that.
Thanks again to all who attended- we cant make it happen without you guys.
Gareth
-
Thanks for letting us come. It was a great weekend and all the kids enjoyed it. I think even the dogs had a goode time :)
Was a fairly damp ride home, but I think I have the least distance to go, so I can't really complian.
-
Really glad all of you enjoyed the weekend, i have emailed Mortons so fingers crossed we will have a stand.
