Hi Michael. I`m not sure what you are using as polish, I`m guessing it`s something along the lines of Autosol? I don`t know if it would be any easier or quicker, but on the ally parts of my last Harely I used T-Cut, did an excellent job with less "elbow grease" than Autosol. Dunno, may be worth trying on the underside of the tank first just in case  :-\ Look forward to seeing it!! Cheers

Morning all....first off thanks for all the advice and encouragement you chaps are giving. I spent approx two hours last night just stripping the underside of the tank of all the dreadful powder coating, plus I gave a small part of the upper side a real quick rub up (oo er vicar) with some scotch brite  and solvol (yes Steve you are correct in your assumption mate) it came up pretty good. Don't think it'll be as good as Joolz,s tank but like I say unfortunately I don't really have the luxury of time on my side. My mate is coming round this aft to give me a hand in with the engine so shud really start to take shape.    Cheers, Michael

Morning all....got the ikuzawa finished, well apart from bleeding the front brakes. I would really av liked to av rubbed the tank up a tad more but alas I,ve run outta time before Stafford. I'll ask Matt if he'd be so kind as to pop a photo up of the finished bike for anyone who isn't going to Stafford to av a look. I was on to Harris and av had it authenticated as frame number 8 out of 20 that were built.
Cheers, hopefully catch up with some of you at Stafford.   Michael

Cheers Steve, shame you can't make it over for the show. I've asked Matt to pop a photo on of the finished bike, although the photo doesn't really do it justice, looks better in the flesh. Cheers Michael

Evening all....thanks for the very kind words and also thanks to Matt for once again showing just how useless I really am and posting the photo for me. Hopefully some of you will enjoy having a good look over it this weekend,  it really is a fantastic bike, better in the flesh.  I'll even let some of you sit on it so long as you promise to make "brum, brum" engine noises. Cheers, Michael

Evening all, well now the Stafford show is over for another year it can only mean one thing....I can now get the "tracker" back on the bench and get cracking onnit again. Hopefully get it roadworthy ready for next spring/summer. I haven't rode a bike for just over a year now (since my accident) and I'm itching to get back in the saddle (there's a song in there somewhere, come on all you rock fans)
Anyway I'll keep you all posted as I progress
Cheers,,,Michael

Thanks dick scratcher but that was the ikuzawa I took to Stafford, I'm also on with building an xbr street tracker which I put on hold to get the iki looking reasonable for the show. I'm now looking forward to getting the xbr back on the bench and getting stuck in...roll on the weekend I say ;) ;) ;)
Cheers, Michael

Good evening chaps,   having had a bit of a "cleansing period" over the last six months, sold the ikuzawa, sold the gs500 and sold my other xbr to Martin (xbally) then bought my (very) shiny new ktm390 duke🏍🤘 I felt it was time to get the tracker project back on the bench and crack on n hopefully get it done. I've been struggling a tad with my arm in the cold weather (that's my excuse n I'm sticking with it😉) However the warmer weather is creeping in so back into the workshop on an evening I go. Hopefully get it completely finished in time for the Stafford show in October again (assuming thumper club has a stand again) I'll keep you all posted with any progress I make.
Cheers, Michael
