insurers

ok, lets have your best options for insurers, carole nash are playing silly bu55ers. i'm trying to add #10 (srx4) onto my #1's (srx6)  policy,
and the insurer (ageas) won't do it !!. Nash are offing to cancel the policy (with a 50% refund) and open up a new policy with both bikes on it. so, now got a quote for £219 for both bikes, with a refund of £67 on cancelling the existing 1 bike policy ... the insurer is.... wait for it ... ageas!!!  this quote is valid for 30 days (though the refund amount may change) ... i wait with bated breath for you expert advice ...

I've gone to RH but that's for "classics" - not sure whether your SRXs would qualify. They do excellent premiums and best of all don't charge for mid-term amendments. Less than £100 for the Norton, Honda and Grumph with agreed value of £13,000.....

Good luck Steve. They can be a bit slow to answer emails but usually quite good on the phone.

I got my SRX insured with Swinton this time, for the princely sum of £72 with no NCD. They are also giving me  NO excess at all. I just couldn't believe my luck 😄

I was with Peter James for a long time but their practice of charging £20 - £25 for even minor amendments drove me to RH.

As I said, RH do beat Peter James - principally because of the charges (or not) for amendments.

Ian(soady) ... got a call back from RH, went through everything (including adding #1 at a later date) got a quote for £94, which included uk & european recovery & home start. obviously fully comp, included all the mods (paint, single seat, rearsets, bars etc) ... so happy with that, also included 3rd party on any bike not owned by me.
to be fair, swinton did offer cover at £69, but didn't include recovery, or cover for riding other bikes. & Nash wanted £209 to cover both #1 & #10.
job done, thanks for the heads up Ian.

now going to call them back and get a quote for my Yaris T Sport, Nash have just upped it to £320 !!
