Just insured eight bikes fully comp, unlimited mileage for £106 with Peter James Insurance! Happy days  :) Bikes are over twenty years old, but they will also insure more modern stuff too. Definitely worth a punt as nobody else even came close.

In what decade were you born? if you don't mind me asking.

I can Second on this one, we have 9 bikes with Peter, ranging from a 2002 Honda Vtr Sp2 to a 1955 Triumph T110, 2 of the bikes are valued at £20k+ and we pay less than £400 for fully comp, recovery (often used), foreign  travel and market value. Market Value is better than Agreed Value in many cases because some values rise annually. We are however of fairly advanced years.

I have been in touch with Peter James Insurance and they quote £113 Fully comp for the CB250RSA (32 years old) Is that good or does anyone have other ideas or other Insurance companies that I should check out?

That's very strange Steve. I just added another bike, a 500,  to my policy today for £8.12 !
Now, I'm in a large club of 250 members here that gets a discount with Peter James. The price for a single bike must be a certain amount, then the others are a small fee on top, but try elsewhere, as that sounds expensive to me.

Hi Tim , Steve, could it make a difference the fact that you,re based in N/I and not the mainland??, just a thought

It should work in Steve's favour, as motor insurance has always been more expensive in NI than mainland UK  :-\

West Yorkshire has close to London levels of theft and a large proportion of drivers without a licence, insurance etc. I used to be able to get a reduction for having my main address in Surrey rather than Leeds.

Your postcode can make a difference - We have a Nottingham -NG - postcode even though I'm in the middle of rural Lincolnshire. Insurence costs more here than it does in the next village- less than than 1 mile away - because they have a Lincoln LN postcode and are deemed a lower risk catagory!

Ok, latest insurance news. Alison got her XBR insured with Peter James fully comp, unlimited miles, for £86. Not spectacular, but the important bit is that it covers me to ride it too. Happy days  :)
