I see that my dodgy photos
have been put into the gallery so everyone knows what one looks like now.
The question is what does it go like, well I have now put 700 miles on mine so it is still loosening up, Impressions are:
- Nice load of low down stomp (great for off road slugging especially in
today's monsoon like conditions).
Tops out at 100MPH but will not pull to rev limiter in top gear.
Large silencer seems to be very restrictive which is helping with the torque but it seems to run out of breath higher up.
Overall the bike is typically German engineered i.e. over engineered which is not helping either of the above, but the finish is excellent much better than the usual Japanese cheesy finish.. but this also means that it is a tad heavy at the moment. Spec is quite impressive
with TECHNOFLEX rear shock and MARZZOCHI 45MM fully adjustable front forks.
I have been asked to post some URL's of MuZ stuff so here goes.
http://www.motorradna.com/mz_home.htm
- North Americam MuZ dealer
http://www.egli-racing.ch - go to EGLI racing and look at Ausblick auf die Saison 2000 click on the hotlink to MZ.
Although I am currently using the MuZ for commuting to work and off road stuff I will shortly be doing the SUPERMOTO conversion on it, this will involve using 17in wheels with sticky tyres, higher gearing and a major weight loss session along with (I hope) a Major gain in H.P, this will be done by the following.
- Different exhaust ( http://www.ldb.co.uk/teamj/m4prods.htm)
M4 exhaust for Mastiff (same bike) will be fitted which allows the engine to free rev ( I know of a guy in the states who was gob smacked by the difference after fitting this exhaust) and will save some
10lb in weight. Also NO re-jetting is required, in fact the exhaust cleans up the carburation and makes the bike a lot crisper to ride.
Different cam, this will probably come from Egli which will allow the engine to make even more use of the above mod.
I have some further mods on the cycle parts planned I will explain them later.
If anyone has any questions or info I would gratefully answer/receive it.
